FlexGE students can take part in BYU’s New Student Orientation (NSO) for incoming freshmen. Join us for a live welcome event to get to know other students, learn about the BYU legacy, and discover additional resources to help you gear up for success at BYU. Parent Orientation
Parents are encouraged to attend Summer and Fall New Student Orientations alongside their student! You’ll enjoy breakout sessions just for parents, with tips on supporting your student and detailed information about the FlexGE program. It’s a great way to get involved, ask questions, and start the BYU journey together.
During Winter & Spring NSOs, we do not host a Parent Orientation. However, parents are welcome to attend presentations and tours with their students (child willing).
Online New Student Orientation Modules
Complete the 90 minutes of interactive content to kick-start your BYU FlexGE success. Can’t do it in one sitting? Don’t worry! It saves your progress for when you want to start up again! We strongly recommend completing this before you register for classes.
BYU Email
All FlexGE students have a secure BYU email account. All email communications from BYU and FlexGE will be sent to this address rather than your personal email. Be sure to check it regularly as soon as you are admitted to FlexGE for important notifications about registration, scholarships, financial account, holds, etc. Log in with your [NetID]@byu.edu at outlook.office.com.
Get Connected
We will keep you posted on important dates, information, and college success tips with our FlexGE email newsletter. It is automatically sent to all FlexGE students, but parents are welcome to sign up as well! In the FlexGE Facebook group, students and parents can ask questions, offer insight, find roommates, etc. We also recommend you follow our social media channels to stay in the loop about all things FlexGE.
