Student are assigned an advisor based on last name, but you are welcome to meet with any advisor. Those not yet admitted to FlexGE should use the First Available Advisor link above.
Camille Black
Camille is passionate about helping students find their unique path through education. She earned a bachelor’s in Experience Design Management from BYU and a master’s in School Counseling from the University of Phoenix. Originally from Oregon, she enjoys traveling, watching movies, and laughing with loved ones.
Amanda Shrum
With a BFA in Theatre from the University of Utah and an MFA in Creative Writing from BYU, Amanda has worked at the BYU Salt Lake Center since 2021. She enjoys acting and singing in local productions, writing novels, and visiting San Diego.
Ben Pinnock
Ben graduated from BYU with a bachelor's in psychology. He loves working with students to figure out their goals and motivations for college. In his free time, he enjoys collecting vinyl records, reading a good book, cooking with his wife, and watching movies.
Rachel Johnson
Rachel finds great purpose in helping students in their pursuit of higher education. She earned her a bachelor's degree in Political Science from UVU and a Master of Public Administration from SUU. She enjoys running, baking sourdough, and spending time with friends and family.
Paul Gillespie
A Caltech graduate, Paul served as an Air Force officer before returning to academia. With a background in STEM and humanities, he now advises FlexGE students at BYU. He lives with his wife and four children.
Meg Ernstrom
After earning a BA in History Teaching and a French minor from BYU, Meg taught in public schools and later earned an MA in School Counseling from Adams State University. She enjoys time with her husband, family, friends, and nature.
Kaitlyn Dyshkant
Kaitlyn loves helping students navigate their educational journey with confidence and purpose and supporting them in achieving their goals. A graduate of Brigham Young University in Family Life: Human Development, she believes education can open doors to meaningful opportunities and personal growth. Outside the office, she enjoys traveling, exploring the outdoors, gardening, spending time with others, and making memories with her family.
Appointment Scheduling
You can schedule an in-person or virtual meeting with your assigned advisor (current students) or meet with the first available advisor.
Walk-in appointments may be scheduled by calling 801-422-4351 or visiting our front desk at the Harman Building room 111. We will assist as available.
